Helen Grant OBE, MP for Maidstone and Malling, visited Optegra Eye Clinic Maidstone on 5th February to meet the surgical team, speak with patients having their NHS cataract surgery and have a tour of the high-tech facilities.
A clinic which has helped to improve the eyesight of over 8,000 people in the Kent area has welcomed its local MP through the doors.
The Maidstone Clinic Now Offers Cataract & Glaucoma Treatment
Optegra Eye Health Care is a network of specialist eye hospitals and clinics across the UK that provide cataract and vision correction procedures.
The Maidstone clinic currently offers NHS cataract surgery to help reduce waiting lists and provide this sight-saving surgery to residents, without delay. It has also recently started providing a stent procedure for people with glaucoma.
Since opening its doors in September 2022, the five-star clinic in Kings Hill has conducted thousands of NHS cataract procedures, treating patients within just a few weeks of referral, substantially reducing waiting times for cataract surgery in the region.

“The cataract surgery they provide is truly transformative for patients’ eyesight, all carried out in sparkling facilities with easy parking and level access.
“I was grateful to be so warmly welcomed and shown around the premises amidst a busy stream of patients coming and going. Optegra is a worthy model of modern healthcare in action.”
NHS Patients Can Be Referred to Optegra Maidstone
