Biography

Mr Pasu is a well established five star rated cataract surgeon performing more than 1200 procedures a year. He is a British Army reservist with the Royal Army Medical Corps combining his love of surgery, fitness and leadership.

He completed his schooling at the prestigious Perse School, Cambridge and read medicine at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine in London. His extensive and comprehensive ophthalmology training was in London, namely at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. During this time he developed a keen interest in complex cataract surgery and took an active and passionate role in teaching junior eye surgeons. He spent two years of his training fully dedicated to research at Moorfields which led to the award of a postgraduate degree MD (res). His research made it possible for patients to make a more informed decision regarding macular hole surgery and is applicable on an international scale.

He is currently a honorary senior clinical lecturer for Kings College London medical students and was the former clinical lead for the East Sussex Diabetic eye screening programme.

Mr Pasus greatest achievement is his charity work. He is the founder and CEO of The Guru Projects Foundation, a UK registered charity committed to addressing the causes of reversible blindness around the world. The charity has already performed over 500 procedures in Colombia helping a population that would not normally have access to healthcare.
