Tristan Mann

Biography

Mr Mann is a dedicated ophthalmic surgeon with a rich and diverse background in medicine. Originally from South Africa, he spent seven years as a general practitioner before choosing to specialize, training under the renowned Professor Stegman. Under this esteemed mentorship, he refined his expertise in glaucoma, oculoplastic, and vitreoretinal surgery.

After moving to the UK in 2019, Mr Mann made a significant impact in the NHS in West Sussex, and in 2022, he brought his advanced skills to Guernsey. He is passionate about his work, often reflecting, “I’m always inspired to see the reaction of patients the next day when you have performed cataract or corneal refractive surgery. I find it very fulfilling to deliver excellent care which results in extremely happy patients who can see the very next day how well their surgery has gone.”

Outside the operating theatre, Mr Mann embraces an active lifestyle. He enjoys mountain biking and looks forward to renewing his private pilot’s license. Ever the lifelong learner, he has also completed an MBA and expanded his skill set by learning coding and CAD design software, continuously seeking new challenges both professionally and personally.
