FAQ’s

Every patient who has cataract should be suitable candidate for this lens, as this lens would not cause any visual problems compared to other lenses and the lens does not affect contrast sensitivity.

The advantage with TECNIS® Monofocal 1-Piece IOL, is this lens is diffractive lens, which reduces the corneal aberration so to some extent helps patients who even have some corneal issues. The other advantage with this lens, is that the lens is made of Hydrophobic material, which prevents capsular problems and prevents cloudiness over long period. The design of the lens helps in preventing visual disturbances which is common problem post cataract surgery.

 

Normally, there is no aftercare with this lens, however after few years the patient may develop aftercataract which needs polishing of the lens with laser. This happens earlier with other lenses than Tecnis, as the material and the way the Tecnis designed, prevents aftercataract to develop much later than other lenses.
